FASA conquer Ben Nevis

Posted at 11:46AM on August 15, 2011 under Adults & Community

On Saturday 13th August FASA took to highest peak in Britain, Ben Nevis.

The group of 19 set off at 8.30am from Glen Nevis heading straight for a steep incline locally named “Heart attack hill”. After this tough climb we started on to the meandering paths which provided some of the most amazing views of valleys, lakes and wildlife.

Th temperature soon began to drop and along with rising winds and low visibility this made the climb more a lot difficult. However, everyone battled together and we all reached the tallest point in the UK.

The first of the groups arrived back at around 2.30pm with the last coming in at around 6.30pm. A lot of people achieved personal goals and gained new friends along the way but through this event they have have helped FASA continue their vital work within the local community.

Well done to everyone who took part and everyone who sponsored them!
